Tellus Museum

Overview

The Tellus Museum in Cartersville is one of Northwest Georgia's most significant cultural destinations, and the West Galleries project added meaningful exhibit space to an institution that had outgrown its original footprint. The design challenge was extending the museum's architectural language into new territory without the addition feeling like a compromise.

The west elevation captures the scale and material character of the existing structure while providing flexible interior gallery space that can accommodate rotating and permanent exhibits. The project required close coordination with museum curators, exhibit designers, and the structural engineering team to deliver gallery environments that meet both institutional and visitor experience standards.
